Nancy Deskins

Development Associate

Inspired by Jim and Rhonette Hukill’s story and Lift’s transformative force within the disability community, Nancy is honored to support Lift’s mission that provides essential programs and services that uplift and empower individuals and families facing disability-related challenges.

Nancy has supported operations and development efforts for several nonprofit organizations to include those that serve the homeless and in the performing arts.  An accomplished executive leader, Nancy is retired from a successful 25+ year career in the aerospace and defense industry, and considers her “encore” career work assisting nonprofit organizations in and around her community to be a blessing.

Nancy moved from Pennsylvania to Florida in 2015 and is now a resident of Winter Garden.  She enjoys the many wonderful shops and restaurants along Plant St. and cycling the West Orange Trail. As a flutist and advocate for the performing arts, Nancy plays for several churches and the Central Florida Community Arts Symphony Orchestra.  Nancy and her husband Dave are originally from the greater Philadelphia area and are avid Philadelphia sports fans.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies: Public Administration & Political Science from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.  She is Green Belt certified in Lean Six Sigma and Internal Auditing.  Nancy has also received numerous industry recognitions to include Advocate of the Year from the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of Minority Business Development and as Best of the Decade from Women’s Enterprise Magazine.
