Rachel joined Elevate at its very beginning in January 2023, volunteering on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. She loved teaching Bible lessons and getting to know the families of the members. With years of experience in disability programs across Virginia and Georgia, she found a special connection in working with a day program, seeing firsthand how it meets the deeper needs of families. 

Rachel had the privilege of homeschooling her four children (yes, she’s definitely smarter than a 5th grader!). Three of them are now amazing adults living independently, while the youngest is finishing 8th grade and playing basketball. She and her husband, Jim, have been married for many years and have spent the majority of their journey together in full-time pastoral ministry.  

She loves coffee, traveling, reading, hosting gatherings, and—most of all—spending time with her family.
